Garment Care
Extend the life of your garments with our care tips.
Wool & Wool Felt
Wool knits, coats, and accessories require thoughtful, gentle care to maintain their integrity. Wherever possible, avoid frequent washing as wool benefits greatly from simple airing and spot cleaning to refresh the garment.
When washing is absolutely necessary, use a trusted eucalyptus-based wool wash and plenty of cool water. Avoid rubbing, agitation, or minimal water, as these can cause shrinkage or unwanted felting. After washing, gently hand-wring without twisting, then lay flat to dry on a towel in the shade.
Cotton
Cotton is a hardy fabric and can withstand machine washing. Heat from tumble drying can cause it to shrink. We recommend line drying in the shade to preserve integrity and fit of garments.
Linen
We recommend handwashing or delicate machine wash with an approved eucalyptus wool wash and then spin dry to remove excess water and line dry in shade. Do not ever tumble dry.
Even the highest quality yarns can appear worn after a single machine wash. If you appreciate a distressed look, then this might suit you, but realise that you are shortening the lifespan of your garment.

General Care
To ensure longevity of garments, we recommend hand washing or delicate machine wash.
Remember to spin dry remove excess water.
When a garment is dripping wet many damages can occur. Colours may bleed, rust might occur around metal button and garment shape may be altered due to the added weight.
How to refresh clothes without washing
1. Airing - hanging a garment on the line on a clothes hanger for an afternoon in the shade will revive the garment and refresh if it had any smell (eg. perfume, deodorant ect.)
2. Freezing - placing a garment in a plastic bag and leaving it in the freezer overnight will kill any bacteria that might be making it smell.
3. Spot Cleaning - food spillages and other marks can often be spot cleaned. We recommend using a stain remover for this and then lightly rubbing the area with warm soapy water, then clear water to rinse. Air the garment till dry.
4. Dry Cleaning - dry cleaning is sometimes the best way to revive a garment, especially one that is tailored. This doesn't have to be done often but a tailored jacket or coat will certainly feel refreshed every season with a dry-clean.
