behind the design
Summer conjures fruit and flowers and persimmons have an orangey hue that Megan wanted to take advantage of. She painted them against a natural earthy ground so that the colour would really pop. The painterly quality of her depictions of fruit and leaves is reminiscent of an Italian fresco painting.
