An exquisite use of historic details, of the fantastical and the beautiful, translates into clothing that truly enhances women wearing them. A continuing key source of inspiration for Megan is the natural world and its representation through historic textiles and interiors. Her execution of using historic details of the fantastical and the beautiful translates into clothing that truly enhances women wearing them.
Birds of Paradise came about from Megan thinking about interiors and textiles from past centuries like Chintz and Toile de Jouy. She began thinking of peacocks, lyrebirds and butterflies as the creatures that were represented as exotic from the new worlds. She loved creating a wonderland of creatures in pattern and colour.
She has developed fabrics that nod to the past yet wanted to explore a very modern way to wear them. She encourages mixing prints together as well as mixing light textures with heavy ones. This freedom of playing with different texture weights, colour and shape gives the collection a very contemporary feel.
