Behind the design
Megan consistently draws inspiration from Japanese art, and the Kabuki print originated from a picture she discovered of two Japanese actors performing in a drama. Kabuki is a traditional Japanese theatrical art form. The image has been skillfully simplified for screen printing, using just 4 colors. Its striking stylisation highlights strong black sections that frame the scene beautifully.
This version maintains clarity while expressing the details about the Kabuki print and Megan's inspiration succinctly.
